Marchesi Traded To Cincinnati

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that defenseman Scott Marchesi has been dealt to the Cincinnati Cyclones to complete a future considerations deal that brought forward Mike McLean to the Gladiators last week. Marchesi, a 26-year-old from South Portland, Maine, has 11 points in 42 games with the Gladiators this season.

Marchesi skated four collegiate seasons at Sacred Heart University, where he tallied 51 points in 138 games before making his pro debut with the Gladiators at the end of the 2007-08 season. Last season he put up 21 points in 67 contest with the Gladiators and appeared in two games with Chicago of the AHL. The Cyclones are just his second ECHL team.

The Gladiators continue their 7th season in the ECHL on Friday, February 5th vs. Toledo at 7:35 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
