Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors hosted two of their oldest rivals last week, going 1-2-0 and putting up a losing weekly record for the first time all season. The Condors hold a 26-13-2-1 record, with 55 points in the standings, and an eight point lead in the Pacific Division. Closing the gap is second-place Stockton, who have lost just once in regulation over their last 10 games. Meanwhile, Bakersfield's lead over third-place Ontario is 14 points and fourth-place Las Vegas is 15.

C Adam Naglich added a third period tally to start the comeback for Bakersfield, and RW Ryan Menei scored in the second period. Bakersfield corralled the Aces offense, holding them to just 15 total shots in the game, while pelting the Alaska net with a season-high 46 shots.

Attn: 5,085
The Idaho Steelheads came to town for the first time all season, and rolled to a 6-3 victory on Friday night, in the highest penalized Condors game of the season. Bakersfield racked up 85 minutes in penalties, their highest single game total in over two years, including over 50 minutes in the third period alone, when Head Coach Marty Raymond and LW Shawn Weller were ejected. F Mathieu Aubin, RW Nick Kemp and LW Ryan Donally each lit the lamp for Bakersfield in the loss.
Saturday, Jan. 30
Idaho 3 vs. CONDORS 2
Attn: 6,694
The Condors once again came from behind in the third period, when C Maxime Macenauer capped a two-goal rally with a third period goal, but ultimately fell 3-2 to the Steelheads on Saturday. Former Condors LW Mark Derlago scored on the power play, his second of the game, with just 4:14 remaining to break the tie and push in front. LW Shawn Weller scored as well for Bakersfield.
PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:
- LW Shawn Weller and D Mark Mitera became the 8th and 9th players this season to go up to the next level. The duo was reassigned by Anaheim on Sunday to the Abbotsford Heat, AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames.
- Mitera had recorded an assist in the last four games prior to being reassigned. He had eight points (3g-5a) in his last 11 games. Mitera's assist streak is tied for the longest of the season for Bakersfield.
- The Condors have lost two in a row at home for the first time since Jan. 14-16 of the 2009-10 season. It's the first time since Oct. 30-31 that they have lost two in a row overall.
- Bakersfield is the best team in the league in the shootout, leading the ECHL with a.500 shooting percentage and an.867 save percentage. Winning five of seven overtime games and three of four shootouts have given the Condors a.727 overtime win percentage, second-best in the ECHL.
- Bakersfield has trailed after the first period (20 times) in nearly half of their 42 games played.
- The Condors are 16-2-1 when scoring the first goal. However, they have surrendered the first goal in seven of the last nine games.
- G Timo Pielmeier stopped all four shooters he faced in Wednesday's shootout, the third time in four shootouts he has held the opposition scoreless. He has stopped 13 of 15 shooters this season.
- The Condors 85 penalty minutes on Friday night was a season-high in the ECHL, and their highest single-game total since December, 2007.
ON THE DOCKET:
