Gladiators Acquire St. Pierre From Royals

The Gwinnett Gladiators today announced that they have acquired defenseman Nick St. Pierre from the Reading Royals in exchange for defenseman Aaron Brocklehurst. St Pierre, a rookie out of Colgate University, has 14 points in 32 games with the Royals and chipped in two assists in five games with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch this season.

In four collegiate seasons at Colgate, St. Pierre amassed 62 points in 147 games and added 127 penalty minutes. The 24-year-old made his pro debut in 10 games with Syracuse last year following his senior season at Colgate, notching one assist and eight penalty minutes.

Brocklehurst, a second-year pro out of St. Cloud State University, registered 20 points and 47 penalty minutes in 40 games with the Gladiators this season. He made his pro debut last season with the Florida Everblades and made a stop at the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters for four games before finishing the season with Victoria, tallying 29 points in 64 total games. He originally came to the Gladiators in July of 2009 in a trade for Dirk Southern.

The Gladiators continue their 7th season in the ECHL on Friday, February 5th vs. Toledo at 7:35 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
