The Wolves have posted an 11-0-1-0 record through 12 games, the best start to a season in franchise history; Chicago's .958 winning percentage is the highest in the American Hockey League as the squad remains one of two teams in the circuit that has not been defeated in regulation.

WOLVES HEADLINERS

--- STEVE MARTINS: Posted points in three straight games (G, 2A), which includes netting the squad's only goal in Sunday's shootout win ... Leads the Wolves and shares 10th in the AHL with 14 points and paces the squad and is tied for 11th in the league with 10 helpers

--- BRETT STERLING: Potted two goals on both Friday and Saturday ... Recorded four markers and eight penalty minutes in four games with the Wolves last week after being assigned by the Atlanta Thrashers on Monday ... Made his NHL debut this season notching one goal and two assists in 10 games with the Thrashers ... Named the AHL Rookie of the Year in 2006-07 after leading the league with 55 goals and placing fourth with 97 points in 77 tilts with the Wolves

--- FRED BRATHWAITE: Leads the AHL with eight wins, ranks third with a 1.96 goals-against average and fourth with a .934 save percentage in nine outings ... Held opponents to just nine goals over his last six outings, recording 183 saves on 192 shots ... Started nine straight games from Oct. 19 to Nov. 10 before backing up on Sunday

--- JASON KROG: Dished out seven assists over the last five games ... Ranks second on the club with nine assists and fourth with 12 points in 12 contests ... Registered 92 points (29G, 63A) in 56 career contests as a member of the Wolves, which includes tallying at least one point in 49 of those tilts.

WOLF TRACKS

--- The Wolves have recorded a 3-0-0-0 mark this season when trailing their opponents entering the third period, which includes notching wins in each of their last two outings despite being behind after 40 minutes of play; last year, Chicago did not register a single victory when trailing after two frames (0-17-1-0).

--- The Wolves complete their season-high seven-game road trip on Friday in Iowa; the squad has posted a 5-0-1-0 mark on the trip so far and a 7-0-1-0 record overall in foreign territory.

--- Chicago returns to home ice for the first time in three weeks when the club hosts the Houston Aeros at the Allstate Arena on Saturday at 7 p.m.; the Wolves have notched a perfect 4-0-0-0 mark on home ice this season.

--- Sunday's victory was Chicago's second in in two shootout decisions this season; last year, the Wolves accrued a 2-6 record in contests decided in the shootout.

--- The Wolves are currently on a five-game winning streak after opening the season with six consecutive wins; the 2006-07 squad did not post more than four straight victories all season.

--- Seven of Chicago's 12 tilts this season have been decided by one goal (6-0-1-0).

THE FUTURE IS NOW

The Wolves will host their second annual Future Journalists Media Day for high school students at the Hoffman Estates Community Center and Ice Arena on Tue., Nov. 13 at 9:30 a.m. Guest speakers include MARK GIANGRECO from ABC 7, PAULA FARIS from NBC 5, HARRY TEINOWITZ from ESPN Radio and SCOTT POWERS from the Daily Herald.

Sun., Nov. 11 Chicago 2, (at) Rochester 1 (SO) --- Chicago posted its first goal to tie the contest at one apiece with just 59 seconds remaining in regulation before skating away with a 2-1 shootout victory over the Rochester Americans at Blue Cross Arena --- Center STEVE MARTINS notched Chicago's last minute marker --- Netminder ROBERT GHERSON recorded 24 saves on 25 shots in regulation and overtime and stopped four of the five shootout attempts he faced in his Wolves debut

Sat., Nov. 10 Chicago 4, (at) Hamilton 3 --- The Wolves tallied twice in the opening 2:16 of the third period to come from behind and defeat the Hamilton Bulldogs, 4-3, at Copps Coliseum --- Left wing BRETT STERLING recorded two goals while center JASON KROG and rookie blueliner GRANT LEWIS each posted two assists --- Goaltender FRED BRATHWAITE racked up 29 saves on 32 shots

Fri., Nov. 9 Chicago 5, (at) Syracuse 2 --- Down 2-0 early in the game, Chicago reeled off five unanswered goals to post a 5-2 victory over the Syracuse Crunch at the War Memorial at Oncenter --- Forwards ALEXANDRE GIROUX and BRETT STERLING each collected two goals, while defensemen BRIAN FAHEY and BORIS VALABIK each tallied two assists --- Goaltender FRED BRATHWAITE notched a season-high 38 saves

Wed., Nov. 7 Chicago 2, (at) Quad City 1 --- Left wing JORDAN LaVALLEE snapped a 1-1 tie at the 7:31 mark of the third period and the Wolves held on to defeat the Quad City Flames, 2-1, at I Wireless Center --- Defenseman JOEL KWIATKOWSKI potted Chicago's other goal --- Netminder FRED BRATHWAITE notched 26 saves on 27 shots
