HOMEWARD BOUND
The Wolves open a season-high seven-game homestand against Toronto on Wednesday; Chicago, which has notched a 9-5-0-1 mark at home this year, has played just 15 of its 39 games this season at the Allstate Arena, the third fewest home tilts in the AHL.
WOLVES HEADLINES
--- PAUL POSTMA: Paced the Wolves with four goals and shared the team lead with six points in five games last week ... Paces team defensemen and shares fourth overall on the team with 19 assists and is tied for fifth overall with 26 points in 39 games this season ... His 19 assists share sixth among AHL blueliners while his 26 points share second ... Paces the Wolves and ranks first among league defenseman with 112 shots on goal
--- JASON KROG: Paced the team with five assists and shared the team lead with six points in five games last week ... Paces the Wolves and ranks second in the AHL with 38 points in 39 games this season ... Ranks first on the Wolves and shares second in the AHL with 30 assists ... His eight goals share sixth on the team
--- DARREN HAYDAR: Collected five points (G, 4A) in five games last week ... Ranks second on the team and shares seventh in the league with 34 points in 36 games this season ... Ranks third on the Wolves and shares 19th in the league with 13 goals and ranks second on the team and is tied for 10th in the AHL with 21 assists ... Posted nine assists and 11 points in his last 10 contests
--- SPENCER MACHACEK: Posted 10 points (3G, 7A) in his last eight games, which includes recording nine points (3G, 6A) during a team season-best six- game point streak from Dec. 17 to Dec. 29 ... Shares first on the Wolves and 11th in the AHL with 14 goals and holds third on the team and shares ninth in the league with 33 points in 38 games this season ... Paces the team and is tied for 11th in the league with a +13 plus/minus rating
WOLF TRACKS
--- The Wolves earned eight out of a possible 10 points during their five-games-in-six-nights stretch last week (4-1-0-0); Chicago has amassed a 20-16-2-1 record through 39 games and sits in fifth place in the West Division with 43 points.
--- Chicago native TIM STAPLETON was reassigned to the Wolves on Sunday; the 28-year-old forward, who tallied an assist in his lone matchup with the Wolves this season, has skated in 10 NHL games with Atlanta this year, notching two penalty minutes, and also appeared in 20 contests with the AHL ¬â¢s San Antonio Rampage earlier this season, recording eight goals and 15 points.
--- Ten players on Chicago ¬â¢s roster have bagged three or more power-play goals this season; the Wolves lead the AHL with a 23.8 conversion rate on the power play (43 of 181).
--- The Wolves have registered a 15-0-0-0 record when allowing two or fewer goals in a game this season, which includes its last two victories.
--- Goaltender DREW MacINTYRE has registered a 1.63 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in his last three starts (3-0-0), after not appearing in a game since Nov. 16; the 27-year-old netminder has accrued a 3.56 goals-against average and .878 save percentage in six games overall this season (3-3-0).
--- The Wolves have surrendered a power-play goal in six straight games, one short of matching a season-high; Chicago ranks 30th in the league with a 73.8 percent efficiency rating on the penalty kill overall this season (144 of 195).

--- Wolves defenseman JAIME SIFERS will visit the Naperville Library, 200 W. Jefferson Ave., on Tue., Jan. 4, at 4:30 p.m., and the Glenside Library, 25 E. Fullerton Ave. in Glendale Heights, at 7 p.m., as part of the team ¬â¢s ¬ÅRead to Succeed ¬Â program, presented by Vista Health System, Pace and Butternut Bread. Members of the squad will make library visits throughout the Chicago area this season for the program, which has reached more than 550,000 children since its inception in 1995.

--- The Wolves forced overtime with 26 seconds left in the third period and collected a 3-2 shootout win over the Toronto Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum
--- Forwards RYAN GARBUTT and JASON KROG scored in regulation, while ANDREW KOZEK and NIGEL DAWES converted in the shootout
--- Goaltender DREW MacINTYRE made 34 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped all four Toronto shootout attempts
Tue., Dec. 28
Chicago 5, (at) Hamilton 3
--- The Wolves and Hamilton Bulldogs traded goals for 40 minutes before the Wolves used two third period markers to lift them to a 5-3 win at Copps Coliseum
--- Forwards SPENCER MACHACEK, ANGELO ESPOSITO, MICHAEL DAVIES and defensemen PAUL POSTMA and MIKE SIKLENKA lit the lamp for Chicago
--- Goaltender PETER MANNINO kicked out 23 shots
Mon., Dec. 27
(at) Chicago 6, Grand Rapids 3
--- The Wolves fell behind 3-0 but rattled off six unanswered goals to hand Grand Rapids a 6-3 loss at the Allstate Arena
--- Center JASON KROG led the way with three assists, while PAUL POSTMA, DARREN HAYDAR and NIGEL DAWES had two points each
--- Goaltender PETER MANNINO made 24 saves on 27 shots
