'Wolves Walk off on Memorial Day

The SeaWolves walked off with a 4-3 win on Memorial Day at Jerry Uht Park as they took the series from the Altoona Curve and won their third straight game.

Erie grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second against Curve starter Nick Kingham when Steven Moya connected on a solo home run to right, his eighth of the year and third of the series for a 1-0 lead.

In the last of the third, Corey Jones made it a 2-0 game as he connected on a solo home run to right, his second, for a 2-0 advantage.

The Curve tied the game in the fifth against Erie starter Warwick Saupold. Justin Howard led off with a walk and Stetson Allie singled putting a pair on for Elias Diaz. Diaz would later score on an error making it 2-2.

Altoona grabbed the lead in the sixth on an Alan Hanson solo home run to right, his second of the series.

The Curve lead held until the ninth inning. Reliever Emmanuel De Leon gave up back-to-back singles to Moya and Aaron Westlake and walked Dean Green, loading the bases. Altoona turned to the bullpen again and brought in reliever Jhonathan Ramos. Ramos worked an 0-2 count on Jones before hitting him with a pitch, plating the game's tying run. With one out, Jamie Johnson singled to left, plating the winning run.

Kenny Faulk (1-2) earned the win tossing a scoreless inning of relief.

Saupold took the no-decision allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits with two walks and six strikeouts in six innings.
