Wolves Forwards Assist Reading Program

Chicago Wolves center and University of Denver graduate Kevin Doell, along with center and University of Alabama-Huntsville graduate Jared Ross and left wing Karl Stewart will make appearances on Tue., Feb. 21, and Thu., Feb. 23, as part of the team's "Read to Succeed" program, sponsored by Fisher Nuts. The program has reached nearly 370,000 children in 10 seasons.

McHenry Public Library 809 N. Front St. 6 p.m.

Jared Ross

Bensenville Community Public Library 200 S. Church Road 4:30 p.m.

Hodgkins Public Library 6500 Wenz Ave. 6:30 p.m.

Thu., Feb. 23:

Karl Stewart

Elk Grove Village Public Library 1001 Wellington Ave. 7 p.m.

The players will discuss the importance of recreational reading; dress a child in Wolves hockey gear; raffle Wolves prizes; and sign autographs.

The program encourages children to spend more time reading at the library and for fun. Every participant in the program sets an individual reading goal and has the opportunity to achieve incentive prizes such as Wolves notebooks, "Read to Succeed" T-shirts and game tickets for reaching his or her reading goals.

The Wolves work with the DuPage, North Suburban and Metropolitan Library Systems and their participating libraries, reaching more than 30,000 kids each year. Members of the Wolves will visit nearly 40 libraries throughout the Chicago area this season.
