Erie SeaWolves News Release

The Erie SeaWolves (28-36) dropped their fourth-straight game as they suffer a home sweep to the Harrisburg Senators (26-38) by a 9-6 final.

The Senators wasted no time in the opening frame as Caleb Ramsey and Cutter Dykstra each picked up one-out singles. After advancing on a Matt Skole walk, they came home on Kevin Keyes' two-RBI double. Skole would come around to score on Jason Martinson's RBI groundout as Harrisburg quickly took a 3-0 lead.

The SeaWolves responded in the bottom of the first as Jason Krizan got a one-out two-bagger and came home on Ramon Cabrera's RBI Double as Erie trimmed the deficit 3-1.

The Sens answered in the second as Michael Taylor sent a solo home run to right to go back on top 4-1.

The 'Wolves would flex its two-out muscle in the third as Devon Travis picked up a base hit and came in to score courtesy of Steven Moya, who got to second due to a fielding error on Skole. Moya was brought home with Cabrera's RBI Single as Erie crept closer 4-3.

The SeaWolves took the lead in the fourth inning as Craig Albernaz got on base via a fielder's choice and stole second. After Dixon Machado got on base via a walk, they came home as Krizan picked up a two-RBI double as Erie took a 5-4 lead.

However, the lead was short lived as Taylor led off the fifth with a walk and reached third on Ramsey's double. They came around and scored on Dykstra's two-RBI double as the Senators regained the lead 6-5.

Harrisburg would add some insurance runs in the ninth as Adrian Sanchez led off with a base hit and advanced to second on Taylor's sacrifice bunt. After Ramsey got on base with a walk, Skole sent a three-run home run into left-center as the Sens took a 9-5 lead.

The 'Wolves tried to rally in the bottom of the ninth as Krizan got his leadoff single, advanced to second on Cabrera's walk, and came in to score on Dean Green's RBI base hit. However, Harrisburg pitching would snuff out any further rally attempt.

Senators pitcher A.J. Cole (6-2) picked up the win, giving up five runs (three earned) on seven hits, two walks, and a strikeout through five innings.

SeaWolves pitcher Warwick Saupold (3-7) got the loss in five innings of work, giving up six runs on nine hits, two walks, and striking out three.

Erie will look to snap its losing streak as they begin a four-games-in-three-days road trip against the Binghamton Mets tomorrow evening at 7:05pm. The SeaWolves will send LHP Kyle Ryan (5-5, 3.56 ERA) to the mound against RHP Tyler Pill (3-5, 4.79 ERA).
