Harrisburg Senators News Release
The hot-hitting Harrisburg Senators made it six wins in a row on Friday night with an 11-5 victory over the Bowie Baysox at Prince George's Stadium. The Senators have scored 48 runs in their six consecutive victories.
One of the hottest Senators, Kevin Keyes (3-for-4, three RBI), got the team going in the top of the first with a three-run homer. However, the Senators would not score again until the sixth inning when the game was tied at 3-3. In the sixth, Mitch Canham and Adrian Sanchez knocked in runs with singles, and then scored themselves on separate wild pitches later in the inning. Quincy Latimore (2-for-4, two RBI) knocked in a pair the following inning with a broken bat single to make it 9-5, Senators. Two more were added in the eighth when Cutter Dykstra tripled home Caleb Ramsey (3-for-4, run scored) before Matt Skole lifted a sacrifice fly. Michael Taylor (2-for-5, run) extended his hit streak to nine games.
Following a two-run first inning, Zach Kroenke settled in and kept Bowie off the board for the next three innings. The lefty would allow a run in the fifth on an RBI ground out and was also responsible for both runners that scored in the sixth when Paolo Espino allowed a two-run single. After the run-scoring hit, Espino was great. The reliever went 2.1 scoreless innings while striking out two batters. The newest Senator, Derek Self, finished off the night with a clean ninth inning.
