Chicago Wolves News Release
The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned right wing JOEY CRABB to the Chicago Wolves. In addition, Atlanta has recalled right wing JOE MOTZKO (MAWTS-koh) and left wing COLIN STUART from the Wolves.
CRABB made his National Hockey League debut in 26 games with the Thrashers this season, after being recalled from the Wolves on Nov. 21, 2008. The 25-year-old forward recorded seven points (3G, 4A) - which includes his first NHL goal against the New York Rangers on Dec. 10 - and 28 penalty minutes in his first NHL action.
Prior to being recalled by Atlanta, CRABB posted five goals, 10 points and a +10 plus/minus rating in 16 outings with the Wolves. The Anchorage, Alaska, native, has notched 21 goals, 46 assists, 67 points and 126 penalty minutes in 151 regular-season American Hockey League outings with Chicago (2006 to present), and helped the Wolves capture the 2008 Calder Cup championship last season.
MOTZKO leads Chicago and ranks third in the AHL with 24 goals and leads the club and shares 12th in the league with 43 points in 47 outings this season. The 28-year-old forward also ranks first on the team and is tied for sixth in the league with 10 power-play markers, and represented Chicago in the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic on Monday. He has registered five points (3G, 2A) in 19 career NHL outings with the Washington Capitals and Columbus Blue Jackets, which includes recording NHL career-highs with two goals and four points in eight contests with the Capitals last season.
STUART was held scoreless in one contest with the Thrashers this season during his first recall from Dec. 11 to Dec. 14. The 26-year-old forward, who has tallied nine goals and 15 points in 42 matchups with Chicago during his fifth Wolves campaign this year, made his NHL debut in 18 contests with Atlanta last season and recorded three goals and five points.
