Hartford Wolf Pack News Release
The Wolf Pack (28-26-2-0, 58 pts., .518 pts. percentage) went 1-2-0-0 in three Atlantic-Division games this past week. The Pack outshot the Portland Pirates 35-26 Wednesday night at the XL Center, but could not solve Pirate goaltender Mike McKenna, who authored up a 1-0 shutout of the Wolf Pack. Hartford rebounded with a 3-2 shootout win at Lehigh Valley Friday, as Magnus Hellberg made 35 saves and went 2-for-2 in his first shootout of the season. That was the Wolf Pack's 13th straight win in head-to-head competition with the Phantoms, tying a Pack franchise record for most consecutive wins against a single opponent, but Lehigh Valley put an end to that streak Sunday in Hartford. The Wolf Pack led that rematch 1-0 going into the third period, but the Phantoms scored twice in the final frame to prevail by a score of 2-1.
