Coyotes Acquire Marcantuoni from Pittsburgh

Springfield, MA - Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have acquired forward Matia Marcantuoni from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for forwards Dustin Jeffrey and Dan O'Donoghue and defenseman James Melindy.

The 22-year-old Marcantuoni has registered 2-3-5 in 17 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL) this season. The 6-foot, 200-pound native of Woodridge, ON has also recorded 3-4-7 and 10 penalty minutes (PIM) in nine games with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL). Marcantuoni was originally drafted by the Penguins in the fourth round (92nd overall) in the 2012 Entry Draft.

Jeffrey has collected 13-33-46 and 18 PIM in 45 games with the Falcons this season. O'Donoghue has totaled 3-1-4 and six PIM in 18 games with the Falcons. Melindy has recorded 3-16-19 and 97 PIM in 52 games with the Rapid City Rush (ECHL) in 2015-16.

The Falcons return to the MassMutual Center this Sunday for a 5:00 p.m. game against the Syracuse Crunch. Following the game is the free open skate for all fans in attendance.
