Flames Acquire Jokipakka, Pollock and a Conditional Second Round Draft Pick from Dallas Stars

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Flames announced today that they have acquired defenseman Jyrki Jokipakka, centre Brett Pollock and a conditional second round draft pick in the 2016 NHL Draft in exchange for defenseman Kris Russell.

*Condition: In the event Dallas advance to the 2016 Western Conference Final in the 2016 Stanley Cup playoffs, and Russell dresses in 50% of the games in the first two (2) rounds, the draft choice shall become Dallas' first round choice in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Jokipakka, a 24-year-old blueliner, is in his second season with Dallas where he has played 40 games this year and has two goals and four assists. The Tampere, Finland native was the Stars' seventh round pick (195th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft.

Pollock, a 19-year-old prospect, is playing his fourth year for the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League. The product of Sherwood Park, Alberta is leading the WHL's Oil Kings in points (67), assists (42) and plus/minus (+21). Pollock, a 6'3" centre, was Dallas' second round pick (45th overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft.
