WIZARDS TO AID RED CROSS WITH HURRICANE RELIEF Wizards fans encouraged to donate during final four regular season games and playoffs
The Fort Wayne Wizards will team with the Red Cross, starting today, to aid in the relief efforts of the victims from Hurricane Katrina.
The Fort Wayne Wizards staff will collect monetary donations to support the victims and relief efforts in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Donations will be accepted at the Wizards front offices at Memorial Stadium as well as during each of the final four regular season games this Friday through Monday.
In addition, anyone donating blood at the Fort Wayne American Red Cross, located at 1212 East California Road, will receive two free tickets to the Wizards 6:00 p.m. game on Friday, September 2 or the 2:00 p.m. regular season finale on Monday, September 4.
"We want to help in any way we can," General Manager Mike Nutter said. "We are truly blessed in this region with some of the best minor league sports fans in the country. I have no doubt that we can help in this cause. Free tickets are just a small way of showing our appreciation to those that are supporting American Red Cross and their efforts."
