
Snappers win, regain upper hand In playoff race

The Snappers took a 2-0 lead for the second straight night, this time they got the win. Beloit scored two in the second and three in the fourth to lead it 5-0. Snappers starter Kyle Aselton cruised through six and two thirds innings scoreless on his way to the win. Beloit added two more runs in the seventh to open up a 7-0 lead. Peoria got on the board in the top of the ninth with two runs. The Snappers earned a series split with their 7-2 win.
Playoff Notes: The Snappers regained control of their destiny with the win and Kane County's loss. Beloit and Kane County are tied for the final playoff spot, but the Snappers own the tie breaker, which would send them playoff bound.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers and Chiefs will open a four game series with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Fr1day, September 2 at Pohlman Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
