
Devil Rays set to host a jersey auction

Southwest Michigan Devil Rays News Release
The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays will auction off Battle Creek Yankees batting practice jerseys on September 1-5 starting at $40. The proceeds of this auction will go to the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays Charitable Giving Foundation for the benefit of Hurricane Katrina Relief and local charities.
The bidding will begin at 6:05 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1 and will end 10 minutes after the completion of the Monday, Sept. 5 game at C.O. Brown Stadium.
The jerseys are the black and white batting practice tops worn by the Yankees from 2003-04. The winning bidders will have to pay for their jersey(s) in-full before taking it home. Each jersey will come with a certificate of authenticity and list all of the players who wore the top during those years.
The team's Charitable Giving Foundation will also be accepting monetary donations to the Hurricane Katrina cause during this time. For more information, please call 269-660-2287
