
Kernels to make presentation to American Red Cross

Prior to tonight's game between the Kernels and the Swing of the Quad Cities, the Cedar Rapids Kernels will make a check presentation to the American Red Cross to be used towards aid for survivors of Hurricane Katrina.
The Kernels have had donation canisters around the stadium during the final homestand and pledged to make a matching donation of all money raised.
As of last night $1,690 had been raised and with the Kernels' match, a check for nearly $3,400 will be presented by Gary Keoppel, Vice President of the Kernels, to representatives of the American Red Cross.
The check presentation will be made during pregame after 6:30 pm.
