The Wizards took their second straight from the LumberKings as Eric Hurley (3.83 ERA) yielded five runs, four earned, on eight hits and a pair of walks in 5.1 innings.
Fort Wayne added another run off of reliever Mike Padgett, who suffered the loss before Matt Farnum pitched two shutout innings in relief.
Casey Benjamin belted a two-run homer in the sixth to highlight a 2-4 performance and Ben Harrison started a two run rally in the second with a double, part of the right fielder's 2-4 effort.
Outfielder Brandon Boggs, the Rangers fourth rounder out of Georgia Tech in the 2004 draft, made his 2005 debut, going 1-4 with a walk, stealing a base and scoring twice from the top of the order.
