The Portland Winterhawks (12-11-0-0) fell 2-0 to the visiting Vancouver Giants (6-16-2-2) Saturday at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in front of 7,150 fans.

After a scoreless first period, Chase Lang put the Giants up 1-0 with a goal 27 seconds into the second. The Hawks peppered the Giants with chances throughout the period, with 15 shots in the frame, but Vancouver maintained the one-goal lead going into the third.

The Giants made it a two-goal advantage at 12:36 when Tyler Benson scored off a rebound to give the visitors a 2-0 lead. The Hawks pressed throughout the third looking to get on the board, but the Giants turned them away and finished with the win.

Saturday's game was a Burgerville Daylight Classic, with the Coliseum's curtains open to allow sunlight into the arena bowl.
