
Winston-Salem Walks off Greensboro in Back and Forth Contest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - It was an eventful Friday night at Truist Stadium, as the Dash and the Grasshoppers battled back and forth in an eventual 11-10 Dash win.
Matt Gorski helped Greensboro draw first blood, when he scampered home on a wild pitch in the top of the first inning.
Winston-Salem answered back in the bottom of the first.
Oscar Colas and DJ Burt both reached base ahead of Bryan Ramos, who doubled to score both of them and give Winston-Salem a 2-1 lead.
More offense came for the Dash their next time up to bat.
Tyler Osik walked to lead things off and Jason Matthews got plunked, putting two runners on for Oscar Colas. The lefty Colas delivered with an RBI single, and then another run came across in the inning on a wild pitch.
Greensboro struck again in the top of the third, on a couple errors of by the Dash.
Eli Wilson scored on an E7, then both Endy Rodriguez and Abrahan Gutierrez scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at four.
On to the top of the fourth, where the Grasshoppers kept things going.
Jackson Glenn plated a run with a single to center field. Then, Sammy Siani launched a towering drive into right center field, a two run blast to give Greensboro a 7-4 lead.
The Dash offense showed no quit in this ball game, battling back in the home half of the fourth. DJ Burt started the comeback with a bloop single into center to bring Tyler Osik around to score. Then, a throwing error allowed both Burt and Caberea Weaver to score and tie the game at seven.
The 'Hoppers took the lead back in the top of the seventh. Endy Rodriguez launched a first pitch fastball just over the wall and into the Appalachian Mountain Brew-pen, for a go-ahead two run home run.
Then in the bottom of the seventh, DJ Burt worked a walk, and in stepped Luis Mieses**.** The lefty cleanup hitter unloaded on a 1-1 offering, sending it way out to right field for a game-tying two-run home run.
But of course, Greensboro kept the pressure on. In the top of the eighth, Matt Gorski plated a run on a sacrifice fly to right field to put the Grasshoppers up a run, 10-9.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, Winston-Salem was able to tie the game when Bryan Ramos broke for home and scored on a wild pitch.
After a quick top of the 10th, the Dash had a chance to walk it off. Jason Matthews was walked with first base open, loading the bases and putting the game in the hands of Oscar Colas. He fell behind Tyler Samaniego 1-2, before lacing a ball through the pulled-in infield. Moises Castillo raced home, and the Dash went home winners by a final score of 11-10.
Samaniego was the losing pitcher, while Gil Luna, Jr. earned the official win.
