Winnipeg Jets Re-Assign Marto to IceCaps
November 4, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Colorado Eagles News Release
LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the NHL's Winnipeg Jets & the AHL's St. John's IceCaps, announced today that the Jets have re-assigned rookie defenseman Jake Marto to the IceCaps.
This will be Marto's first stint in the AHL after playing the first seven games of his pro career with the Eagles in the ECHL. In those seven games, Marto recorded three points (all assists), a plus-1 plus/minus rating and two penalty minutes.
"Jake is a fantastic young man with a lot of talent and we wish him the best of luck with the IceCaps," said Colorado Eagles head coach & general manager Chris Stewart. "If and when he gets returned to us, we'll be exicted to plug him back into the lineup, and both him and us will be better for his time spent in the AHL."
The Eagles will take on the Ontario Reign tonight in the first of two back-to-back meetings this weekend at the Budweiser Events Center. Individual tickets for all Eagles home games are on sale now, and can be purchased at www.ComcastTix.com, the BEC box office, or by calling 1-877-544-TIXX (8499) or 970-686-SHOT (7468).
