Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Ben Scrivens is the twentieth former Royal to advance to the NHL after playing in Reading. In his NHL debut last night, Scrivens stopped 38 shots and earned the number one star in a 4-1 win for the Maple Leafs over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Scrivens appeared in thirteen games with the Royals last year, compiling a record 10-3-0 with a 2.23 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. While with Reading, Scrivens established a new team record for goaltenders by ringing off nine consecutive wins (10/30/10 - 02/06/11).

The Royals are on the road for five straight starting tonight, Friday (November 4, 2011 @ 7:35 pm) in Greenville, South Carolina, against the Greenville Road Warriors.
