North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays (6-3-0-0) fell to the Florida Everblades (3-6-0-1) 1-0 at the North Charleston Coliseum Friday night, snapping a five-game winning streak.
Defenseman Ryan McGinnis buried the game's only goal with a blast over Stingrays goaltender Daren Machesney's (L, 26 saves on 27 shots) right shoulder from the right-wing point at 16:09 of the first period. Froward David Rutherford recorded the lone assist.
Everblades netminder John Muse stopped all 21 Stingrays chances that were fired his way to register his first win and shutout of the season. The Stingrays went 0-for-5 on the power play while the Everblades finished 0-for-4. The Stingrays continue a three-game in three-night weekend tomorrow, Saturday, November 5 for Domestic Violence Awareness Night versus the Toledo Walleye at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Stingrays are also hosting a coat drive benefiting Tri-County Family Ministries.
