TRENTON, N.J. - Ryan Hayes, in what was a successful homecoming, and Peter Lenes led the way as the Trenton Titans rallied, with three goals in the third period, to record a 4-3 ECHL win over the Elmira Jackals at the Sun National Bank Center Friday night.

Hayes had a goal and an assist, while Lenes put a pair past Jackals goalie Marcos Cousineau to pace the Titans (2-6-0-4) over Atlantic Division mate Elmira (3-4-0-6).

"That's what happens when you execute the system the way we can,'' said Titans head coach Vince Williams. "I hope this carries over into our next game (Saturday night vs. Wheeling).''

Elmira took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Artem Demkov 3:31 into the game. They Jackals stretched it to 3-0 on second-period tallies by Dustin Gazley and Maxime Gatchev and seemed in control with a 3-0 advantage.

But Lenes' first goal, with just 1:08 left in the third period, turned momentum.

Lenes, Blair Yaworski and Hayes, with the winning tally 6:38 into the final period, lifted the Titans to victory.

"It certainly was a nice return to Trenton for me,'' said Hayes. "I want to help keep it going.''
