Winning Wednesday, Sunday Is Fun Day Set for Griffins' Holiday Week

Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 vs. Toronto Marlies

Time: 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 6 p.m.).

Hockey Night: Wednesday is Hockey Night! Through a new partnership between the Griffins, the Downtown Development Authority, the Arena District and several sponsors, fans attending any Wednesday game this season can show their tickets to receive drink specials and 20% off food at participating Arena District restaurants and bars, both before and after the game. Winning Wednesday: All fans who were in attendance for the Griffins' 5-2 win over the Houston Aeros on Dec. 15 can redeem their ticket stubs for free tickets to this game. Furthermore, if the Griffins beat the Toronto Marlies, each fan in attendance can redeem their ticket stub for a free ticket to the Griffins game on Wednesday, Jan. 5 against Hamilton. If the Griffins win, the box office will be open following the game for redemptions. Fans may also redeem their stubs at The Zone during business hours (M-F 10-6; Sat. 10-2) and at the box office the night of Dec. 22.

Library Night: Fans who present their Grand Rapids Public Library card or Kent District Library card at the Van Andel Arena box office on the day of the game or at The Zone anytime during the store's regular business hours (M-F 10-6; Sat. 10-2) can purchase a lower bowl ticket for just $10 - a savings of $7! Limit four tickets per card per person.

Post-Game Party: Join us at Peppino's downtown after the game to meet Griffins players and coaches and enjoy $2 drafts and a special Griffins buffet.

Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 vs. Lake Erie Monsters

Time: 4 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 3 p.m.).

Sunday is Fun Day!: Fans can enjoy $1 Cole's breadsticks and $1 Pepsi products from 3-5 p.m.

Crazy Band and Jersey Card Giveaway: Kids in attendance will receive a hockey skate Crazy Band, while the first 1,500 fans will receive a Jan Mursak jersey card presented by Jack Links.

Griffins Give Back: Thanks to the "Griffins Give Back" program, hundreds of local unemployed workers plus their family members are receiving free tickets to this game. Several thousand tickets have been distributed through three Grand Rapids offices of Michigan Works! While supplies last, those who visit Michigan Works! in person and present both proof of unemployment and a valid Michigan photo I.D. can receive up to four free tickets. Michigan Works! locations and hours are as follows:

* 1560 Leonard NE - Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m.-1 p.m.;

* 121 Franklin SE - Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-6 p.m. (no Saturday hours);

* 622 Godfrey SW - Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. (no Saturday hours).

Single-game ticket prices are $5 (Sunday-Thursday games only, advance purchase at The Zone), $13, $15 and $17 in the arena's upper level, and $17, $20, $25 and $30 in the lower level.
