Falcons Beat Sound Tigers 6-3

The Springfield Falcons extended their winning streak to two straight games with an impressive 6-3 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday night in Bridgeport, CT. The Falcons improved their record to 14-14-1-1 on the season and Springfield has now moved into fifth place in the Atlantic Division.

The Falcons took control of the game with a very strong first period as they scored early and often in the opening 20 minutes. David Savard scored his first pro goal just 1:36 into the first period giving Springfield a 1-0 advantage, followed by Chris D'Alvise scoring his second marker of the year at 4:01 of the opening frame. The Falcons expanded their lead to 3-0 at 12:06 of the first period when Jonathan Sigalet tallied his second goal of the year.

In the second period, the Falcons built a 4-0 lead when Dane Byers scored his first goal of the night at 5:57. Bridgeport's Jeremy Colliton cut the Sound Tigers deficit to 4-1 at 8:02 of the second period with a power play goal, but Byers tallied his second marker of the night just 19-seconds later giving the Falcons a 5-1 advantage.

With the Falcons leading 5-2 in the third period, Micheal Haley scored the Sound Tigers third power play goal of the game at 10:40 of the final period, but John Moore would record his 2nd goal of the year at 12:47 of the final stanza ending the scoring in a 6-3 Springfield win.
