Syracuse Crunch News Release

Syracuse, NY (December 17, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they will utilize some unconventional methods to help turn the club's luck around on home ice.

For the Crunch's Saturday, December 18 game vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, select Crunch staff members will wear garlic necklaces, which are used in some cultures to "ward off evil spirits." The Crunch's slogan for this unique idea is 'WE HAVE THE SMELL TO BREAK THE SPELL.'

In addition, certain seats in The Oncenter War Memorial Arena will have pennies taped to them with the heads side facing up, believed by many people to be a symbol of good luck. Crunch fans are encouraged to bring good luck charms and spell-breaking items such as rabbit's feet, four-leaf clovers, wishbones, horseshoes, etc.

The Crunch travel to Binghamton to take on the Senators on Friday, December 17 at 7:05 p.m. Syracuse returns home to The Oncenter War Memorial Arena on Saturday, December 18 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at 7:30 p.m. Season and single-game tickets for the 2010-11 season are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444, or by stopping by the Crunch office in The Oncenter War Memorial Arena, located at 800 South State Street in downtown Syracuse.
