Rampage Sign Local Goaltender to ATO

December 17, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL) - San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO (December 17, 2010) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Brad Treliving today announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed goaltender Andrew Volkening to an Amateur Try-Out (PTO).

Volkening, 25, is enlisted with the Air Force and is currently serving active duty as a research behavioral scientist at Brooks City Air Force Base (located in San Antonio).

The Genoa, Ill. native spent the last four seasons backstopping the Air Force Academy (NCAA) where he posted a 69-39-14 record in 127 collegiate games and a .911 save percentage and 2.30 goals against average.

The Rampage host the Texas Stars at 7 p.m. tonight for their 6th annual Teddy Bear Toss at the AT&T Center. Tickets start at $10 and can be purchased by calling a Rampage representative at (210) 444-5554 or by logging on to sarampage.com.
