Wind causes street closures
October 13, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manitoba Moose News Release
The Manitoba Moose and MTS Centre wish to advise patrons attending tonight's home opening game between the Moose and Philadelphia Phantoms that the MTS Centre is open and operating as usual.
Street closures due to excessive wind causing unsafe conditions in the vicinity have caused the closure of Hargrave Street north of the City Place Parkade, as well as Portage Avenue between Carleton and Hargrave Street.
Please note these closures will not affect the operation of the hockey game or any parking facilities. There may be slight delays associated with re-routing traffic around street closures, so patrons may wish to allow a little extra travel time to ensure on time arrival for tonight's 7:30 contest. Winnipeg Police Service members, Downtown Watch members and MTS Centre employees will be on hand to assist with vehicular and pedestrian traffic flow.
The public walkway system will be fully open and operational allowing fans full access to the MTS Centre from adjacent parkades and buildings.
