June 15, 2014 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
David Whitehead waited a year to make his professional debut after having Tommy John surgery. What a debut it was at Susquehanna Bank Park at Historic Bowman Field on Sunday, the right handed started went six ho-hit innings allowing just two walks while striking out five. Whitehead retired the final 13 batters he faced.
The Crosscutters offense came to life with a 2-run fourth and 6-run sixth inning when they sent 10 men to the plate.
Each Crosscutter in the starting lineup reached base and seven of the nine had at least one hit. Six different Cutters scored against the Spikes.
Cord Sandberg again had two hits and drove in his first run as a Cutter, Wilmer Oberto also went 2-4, with a double and two runs scored.
WP: David Whitehead (1-0)

Cutters Record: 1-2
