WHEELING, WV â The Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL announce another former player has advanced to the National Hockey League. In 44 games with the Nailers he had 19 points on seven goals and 19 assists with 240 penalty minutes. He finished the 1999-00 season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, playing 23 games with the Penguins. Verot spent the next two seasons with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton before signing with the Saint John Flames for the 2002-2003 season. It was his only season with the Flames.
This season is the seventh of Verot's professional career, his fifth in the AHL. Verot has played 28 games this season for the Portland Pirates, the AHL affiliate of the Capitals. He has eight points this season on three goals and five assists with 89 penalty minutes.
