Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - It's almost March, and the Bakersfield Condors have officially gone mad. The Condors will be holding March Monday Madness for the five Monday home games in March. Each Monday will feature outlandish promotions, including Extinct Team Night (3/10), St. Hatricks Day (3/17), NASCAR Night (3/24) and more! There will also be consistent promotions that will be in effect only during the March Monday Madness games that are sure to leave one word on the tip of everyone's tongue - Madness!
The first promotion that will apply to every March Monday Madness game is the Mucho Season Ticket Giveaway. The Condors will draw, at random, one lucky fan in attendance to win a 2008-09 season ticket every time the Condors score a goal during a Monday home game. There is no limit to this giveaway; if the Condors score 25 goals in March Monday Madness games, 25 fans will win season tickets for next year!
Intermission contests will also be ratcheted to the extreme during March Monday Madness. Monday's Mad Dashes for Merch, Mascot Merch Slingshots and Cooler Kicking Contests, inspired by Head Coach Marty Raymond's recent tutorial on how to properly propel a cooler with your foot, will all serve as insane interludes during intermissions of March Monday Madness games, and will provide fans with unconventional opportunities to walk away with great Condors gear.
In addition, all Condors jerseys will be sold for 50% off at March Monday Madness games, making Condors games the perfect place to satisfy all of your clothing needs... for at least your top half. Yes, we have gone insane. The March Monday Madness jersey sale is just a piece of the larger March Merch Madness sale, which is a 20% off sale on all items at the Condors Team Store for the entire month of March.
Every March Monday Madness game will also feature the March Monday Madness Magnet Collectors Series. A different magnet of the five-piece collectors series will be given to the first 2,000 fans at each Monday home game; Michel Robinson (3/3), Tim Konsorada (3/10), Mark Derlago (3/17), Kevin Truelson (3/24) and Colonel Claw'd (3/31). Not really that off-the-wall, but cool nonetheless.
Last but not least, the party won't stop at the final buzzer of March Monday Madness games. There will be 50-cent domestic drafts next door at the Holiday Inn Select for everyone with a ticket stub for 90 minutes after each Monday game the Condors win.
Kicking off the gargantuan game-by-game promotions during March Monday Madness is the CW Bakersfield and 106.1 KRAB Radio High School/College ID Night on Monday, March 3 when the Cincinnati Cyclones come to Condorstown. All high school and college students will receive executive admission (while executive seating is available) for just $1 by presenting their student ID at the Rabobank Arena Box Office!
The nuttiness continues on March 10 with Extinct Team Night. In remembrance of all the teams that have met their demise, every fan wearing a jersey of a sports team that no longer exists will receive $1 admission to the game against the Idaho Steelheads!
Hot on the heels of Extinct Team Night will be St. Hatricks Day, presented by KUZZ 107.9, on March 17. St. Hatricks Day is the Condors unconventional way of celebrating St. Patrick's Day, while also giving Condors fans the opportunity to walk out of The Nest with their personal pot of gold. One lucky fan will receive $5,000 if a Condors player scores a hat trick on St. Hatricks Day. But the insanity doesn't stop there - if a Condors player scores a consecutive or natural hat trick (meaning the Condors player scores all three goals consecutively), one very lucky fan will leave The Nest with $10,000!
Although St. Hatricks Day will leave some tough shoes to fill, NASCAR Night on March 24 is sure to be up to the task. Every fan wearing a NASCAR shirt or jacket will receive $1 terrace admission to the game. But that's just the beginning - one of Jeff Gordon's actual race cars will be at The Nest! As if that's not cool enough, the race car is equipped with a virtual reality simulator, enabling fans to not only sit where Jeff Gordon has sat, but also to experience the virtual equivalent of what Jeff Gordon has experienced on the track!
The game on March 24 will also be a CW Bakersfield and 106.1 KRAB Radio High School/College ID Night, with all college and high school students once again receiving $1 admission by presenting their student ID at the Rabobank Arena Box Office.
Finally, wrapping up this Monday monstrosity will be the KUZZ 107.9 Blood Drive Night on Monday, March 31. Any fan donating blood at the Houchin Blood Bank during the month of March will receive $1 terrace admission to this game.
March Monday Madness is without a doubt a spectacle that you will not want to miss out on - after all, we aren't this crazy every month!
All March Monday Madness games will start at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. The Condors play a total of 10 home games in March; to view the full schedule of Condors games, click here.
