Coach Marks Goes For Record As Weekend Series Starts Tomorrow At The Hangar

PENSACOLA, FL - The Ice Pilots prepare to do battle against the in-state rival Florida Everblades for a three game series beginning tomorrow at the Hangar. Ice Pilots Head Coach John Marks needs just one win to become the all-time winningest coach in ECHL history. Marks is currently tied with John Brophy for the most career wins in league history with 480.

He is in his ECHL record 14th season as a head coach, spending his first year in Pensacola. Prior, Marks was behind the bench in Charlotte for five seasons and then in Greenville for eight. He won an ECHL Championship with each club. Marks has taken his teams to the playoffs 10 times and has coached an ECHL best 972 career games.

Friday night at the Hangar is Faith Night at 7:05 p.m. The band JourneySong will be performing prior to the game, during intermissions and following the game. Also, the "Fire on Ice" dance team will be on hand and the junior Ice Pilots will have a game during the first period intermission. There is an after game skate which is just $5 without skate rentals or $8 with rentals. Tickets can be purchased for the skate at the Civic Center box office.

Saturday night is Boy Scout Night at 7:05 p.m. and there will be another after game skate. The series concludes on Sunday as game time is 5:05 p.m. It is Saturn Sunday and Recycle Sunday. Fans will have the opportunity to register for a chance to play score-o and win a 2008 Saturn Sky. Also, fans who bring two plastic bags of newspapers will receive a free silver level ticket voucher, good for any Ice Pilots regular season home game.

Don't miss the hard hitting, exciting action, as the Ice Pilots' next home game is Friday, February 29 at 7:05 p.m. vs. the Florida Everblades at the Civic Center.
