SACRAMENTO, Calif. - River Cats starter Andrew Werner limited the Albuquerque Isotopes to one run on five hits in the Cats' 3-2 victory on Friday night at Raley Field.

The River Cats took a two-run lead in the first two innings on a fielding error, and a sacrifice fly by infielder Andy Parrino. In the fourth inning, the Isotopes cut the lead in half on a RBI groundout by Brian Barden. Parrino drove in the River Cats' final run of the game on a double down the right-field line in the eighth inning.

Brian Gordon (4-0, 3.96 ERA) earned his 11th save on the season, despite giving up one run in the ninth.

Werner (10-12, 5.99 ERA) earned the win against Isotopes starter Matt Palmer (6-5, 3.69 ERA), allowing one run on five hits and 98 pitches in seven innings on the mound. Palmer threw 117 pitches in six innings of work and gave up two runs on eight hits.

David Freitas had a 3-for-4 night with one run scored, while Shane Peterson went 1-for-2 and is now 6-for-9 over the last three games. Ryan Ortiz had his second consecutive two-hit game going, 2-for-3.

This was the only matchup of the season between the Isotopes and the River Cats. Overall, the River Cats took three-of-four games and have an all-time record of 24-16 against the Isotopes.

With the Las Vegas 51s losing to the Tucson Padres, the River Cats are now one game back in the Pacific Southern Division.

The River Cats finished their four-game series against the Isotopes and continue their homestand, when right-hander Sonny Gray (9-7, 3.38 ERA) takes on righty Josh Lindblom (8-1, 2.27 ERA) of the Round Rock Express at 7:05 p.m. at Raley Field as Manny Ramirez makes his return to Sacramento on a Sutter Health Fireworks Saturday Night.
