Waterfront Park to Host MAAC Division I College Baseball Tournament

(Trenton, NJ) Mercer County Waterfront Park, the home of the Trenton Thunder, Double A affiliate of the New York Yankees, will once again host MAAC Division I college baseball tournament on May 26-28. Rider University is the host school for the tournament.

Tickets are now available online at maacsports.com and at the Waterfront Park box office during each day of the tournament. A full schedule is available now on maacsports.com.

Team seedings and the bracket for the event will be announced on May 23.

The MAAC includes Canisius, Fairfield, Iona, Manhattan, Marist, Niagara, Rider, Saint Peter's and Siena. The top four teams in the league based on the regular season standings qualify for the double elimination tournament. The winner of the 2011 MAAC Baseball Championship will advance to the 64-team NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. Rider University is the defending champion having won the 2010 MAAC Championship.

The Trenton Thunder and Waterfront Park hosted the MAAC Division I college baseball tournament in 2008 and 2009 and the Mid-Atlantic Regional for the NCAA Division III college baseball tournament in 2010. Rider University won its first MAAC championship in 2008 at Waterfront Park.
