Bowie Baysox Make Roster Moves

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce a series of roster moves today. OF Jeff Fiorentino was traded to the Atlanta Braves, 1B Billy Rowell was placed on the 7-day disabled list retroactive to May 2, 1B Joe Mahoney was placed on the 7-day disabled list, OF Kyle Hudson was transferred to Bowie from Single-A Frederick and C Adam Donachie was transferred to Bowie from class Single-A Aberdeen. With the moves, the Baysox have 23 active players on their 24-man roster.

Fiorentino hit .250 (14-56) in 20 games for the Baysox this season with one double, two triples, two home runs and 13 RBIs. In his career, Fiorentino has appeared in 58 Major League games for the Orioles and the Oakland Athletics.

Rowell has hit .231 (9-39) in 14 games for Bowie with four RBIs. He is eligible to come off the disabled list Monday, May 9.

Mahoney returns to the disabled list for the second time this season. He has appeared in 10 games for the Baysox, batting .235 (8-34) with three doubles, one home run and one RBI. Mahoney is eligible to come off the disabled list Wednesday, May 11.

Hudson appeared in 23 games for Advanced-A Frederick this season, batting .279 (24-86) with three doubles, two RBIs and eight stolen bases in 14 attempts.

Donachie has not appeared in a game yet this season. The right-handed catcher appeared in 78 games with class Triple-A Norfolk. He hit .201 (50-249) with four home runs and 21 RBIs.
