(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announce that right-handed pitcher Josh Schmidt has been transferred from Triple-A Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre to Double-A Trenton. In corresponding moves, right-handed pitcher Brian Anderson and left-handed pitcher Steve Garrison have been placed on the Disabled List.

Schmidt will pitch in Trenton for the fourth straight season after appearing in five games and compling a 2-1 record with a 1.17 earned run average with Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre to start 2011. The Sierra Madre, California-native was 3-3 with a 2.67 earned run average in 47 appearances with the Thunder in 2010.

Anderson made his Thunder debut on April 14 and has since appeared in seven total games out of the bullpen this year. The former Major League outfielder is 1-0 with a 1.17 earned run average with Trenton in 2011.

Steve Garrison was forced to leave his most recent start on Tuesday against Portland after a first inning in which he surrendered two unearned runs. The Ewing, New Jersey-native is 0-4 with a 6.75 ERA in six starts to begin 2011 for Thunder.
