Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
STONE "STONES" LETHBRIDGE
The Moose Jaw Warriors blanked the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes 3‐0 Saturday at the Civic Center. Jesse Paradis got on the board first with the lone goal of the beginning 20 minutes of play. Spencer Edwards and Joey Kornelsen each added a goal in the second to make it 3‐0 heading into the last period.
No goals would be scored in the final twenty minutes, but the period would not go without some action. Combined with a number of scuffles and fights, Brandon Anderson, goalie for the Canes, dropped the gloves and skated towards center. Up for the challenge, 17 year old rookie goal tender Brandon Stone left his crease and headed for center. The refs would stop the ensuing fight and send both Stone and Anderson off to the dressing rooms. Brandon Stone earned his second Warriors win of the season and his first shut out of his WHL career.
Post game, the Warriors coaching and business staff were "pied" at center ice for a local project entitled "MJ Place" that will benefit local individuals who suffer from Crohn's and Colitis.
TIGERS TAKE THE "W" FRIDAY NIGHT
The Warriors kicked off their Get Gutsy Fundraiser and Parent's weekend Friday with a ceremonial puck drop by Mayor Glen Hagel. The Warriors challenged their fans to raise $1,000.00 in order to see Spencer Edwards and Quinton Howden speed skate along with Morty to be named Mayor of Moose Jaw for a day.
The Warriors started off the game with a Collin Bowman marker. Nearing the end of the second Bowman got his second of the night to give the Warriors a two goal lead into the first. Harrison. Antonin Honejsek would end the second with one final goal.
Third period was all Tigers. Three straight goals from Cole Grbavac, Tyler Pitlick, Linden Vey and Patrik Parkkonen made it a tiger win. The Warriors fall 6‐3 to the Tigers, but did win off the ice tonight. The tribe raised $1000.00 for the first night of the "Get Gutsy" fundraiser, raising funds for "MJ Place" for those who suffer from Crohn's and Colitis.

WARRIORS GET GUTSY
Beginning November 12th until the 15th , the Warriors challenged their fans and community to raise funds for a local project benefiting those who suffer from Crohn's and Colitis and in return performing "gutsy" challenges. Friday November 12th the fans were to raise $1000.00 for Mortimer J Moose, the Warriors beloved mascot to become Mayor of Moose Jaw for a day. Mayor Glen Hagel was on hand to kick of the night. Morty will be the Mayor of Moose Jaw this Wednesday! Captain Spencer Edwards and Assistant Captain Quinton Howden along with members of the Moose Jaw Kiwanis Speed Skating Club tried out speed skating after the game.
Saturday November 13th the fans were again asked to rasie $1000.00 to see members of the Warriors staff, to include Head Coach Dave Hunchak, Assistant Coach Trevor Weisgerber, Director of Business Operations Corey Nyhagen and Director of Community Relations Marnel Rasmussen to be pied at center ice post game. As the picture shows, it sure did happen!
Monday November 15th will see Dylan McIlrath put to proof the claim that he can carry a standard sized door‐ end to end after the game for the fans. Dylan Hood and Jesse Paradis will attempt to eat the "hottest" wings Moose Jaw has to offer from Déjà Vu Chicken at center ice. A spectacular Tim Horton's inspired intermission filled with celebrity guests will raise funds for the cause.
With a handful of other ways of raising funds, the Warriors are excited to bring awareness to a disease affecting many here in our City. With a bit of fun and daring challenges, the Warriors are hoping to start "MJ Place" (a cabin at Buffalo Pound for those with the disease to use) growing from the ground up.
