Medicine Hat Tigers News Release
The Tigers welcomed the Moose Jaw Warriors to Co-op Place on Saturday night. It was the second meeting between the two squads this season. Moose Jaw came away with a 4-3 victory at home in the previous game.
Moose Jaw would draw first blood with a goal at 3:28 of the opening frame. Martin Rysavy found Ryder Korzcak in the slot with a nice drop pass. Korzcak finished the play off with his sixth of the year. The Tigers would even things up for the intermission though. Ashton Ferster redirected Bodgans Hodass' shot in front of the net for his second of the year. Carlin Dezainde picked up his point of the season with an assist on the goal.
Noah Danielson gave the Tigers their first lead at 3:00 of the second while on the man advantage. Danielson's fifth came on a great shot from the top of the circle that went bardown. Bogdans Hodass and Ashton Ferster picked up the apples on the go ahead goal.
The Tigers defence clamped down in the third period and it looked it they were going to secure the 2-1 win. The Warriors crushed those dreams with a tying goal late in the third. Denton Mateychuk threw the puck across the Tigers net and Jagger Firkus was there to put the puck in the back of the net for his seventh to force overtime.
Both teams had some chances in the overtime but the Warriors would complete the comeback. Denton Mateychuk skated out from the corner and let a wrister go from the right face off dot for his fifth of the season.
Beckett Langkow (2-1-1-1) got the start between the pipes for the Tigers. Despite picking up the loss, he had a fantastic game in net stopping 32 of the 35 shots he faced
