
Vipers Fall Short to Stockton

EDINBURG, Texas (Nov. 22, 2019) - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (1-6) fell to Stockton Kings (4-3) on Friday night, 103-111.
The Vipers started the matchup slow as they fell behind in the first quarter 16-32. Stockton's biggest lead was 18-12 against RGV.
Although the Vipers were behind for most of the first half, they picked up their momentum in the second half as they went back and forth with the Kings.
RGV had five players score in the double digits. Jaron Blossomgame led the Vipers with 22 points, 14 rebounds, earning his first double-double with RGV. Sindarius Thornwell racked up 17 points of his own, adding six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Denver Nuggets assignee, Jarred Vanderbilt, tallied 11 points and six rebounds shooting 5-9 from the field.
The Kings' two-way player, Kyle Guy, totaled a game-high of 33 points, adding eight rebounds and six assists. He shot five from the arc. Isaiah Pineiro racked up a double-double with 21 points, 13 rebounds. Randy Onwuasor also earned a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Gabe Vincent totaled 28 points and added five rebounds off the bench.
The Vipers shot 45.7 percent from the field while Stockton shot 41.9 percent. RGV also earned a season-high of 52 total rebounds.
