
Sellout Crowd Witnesses Swarm Victory over Bulls

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - Tyler Nelson scored 17 points off the bench for the Greensboro Swarm (2-4), including 4-for-5 shooting on threes, to propel the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, 114-102, over the Windy City Bulls (4-2) in front of a capacity crowd at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex on Friday. Robert Franks led the Swarm in scoring with 23 points in Greensboro's second sold-out game of the season (19th in organization history).
The Greensboro starting five all scored in double figures for the second time this season. Caleb Martin and Jalen McDaniels, on assignments from the Charlotte Hornets, impacted all facets of the game. Martin had 14 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists in 38 minutes while McDaniels earned his second double-double of the season of 13 points and 16 rebounds, to go with four steals, two assists and a block in 29 minutes.
Rounding out the starting five performances was Thomas Welsh's 10 points and eight rebounds, Kobi Simmons' 16 points and seven assists and Franks' 23 points and seven rebounds.
The Bulls' (Chicago Bulls affiliate) largest lead was three points, which came midway through the first quarter. The Swarm maintained control throughout, despite the 28 points, seven assists and six rebounds from P.J. Dozier. Milton Doyle added 13 points for Windy City while Bol Bol had 12 points and three rebounds off the bench.
The Swarm forced the Bulls into 21 turnovers, which resulted in 23 points for Greensboro. The Swarm shot 41 percent from three, with Franks and Nelson both sinking four. Franks' big shots came down the stretch, as 20 of his points on the night came in the second half.
Greensboro returns to the court on Wednesday, November 27, when the Maine Red Claws (Boston Celtics affiliate) visit the Fieldhouse at 7:00 p.m.
