Victoria Selects 11 Players in 2024 WHL Prospects Draft

Victoria, B.C. - The Victoria Royals selected 11 players in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft. Victoria's 11 draft picks were comprised of six forwards, four defencemen, and one goalie.

Round 1

With the 8th overall pick, Victoria selected Jacob Schwartz from St. George's U15 Prep (CSSHL). The centerman appeared in 26 games this season, scoring 30 goals and adding 26 assists for 56 points. He also appeared in 6 games for St. George's U17 Prep Team. The product of Vancouver, BC. led the CSSHL in goal scoring with 30 goals. His point total was third most on St. George's during the 2023-24 campaign. Schwartz stands at 5'9" and 150 lbs.

With the 18th overall pick, the Royals selected Ludovic Perreault from the Winnipeg Bruins U15AAA (WAAA U15). Hailing from Winnipeg, MB., the centerman appeared in 32 games this season, scoring 67 goals and adding 25 assists for 92 points. He also appeared in 1 game for the Winnipeg Bruins U17 AAA Team. Perreault finished second in goals amongst players in the WAAA U15 league. Perreault stands at 5'9" and 148 lbs.

Round 2

With the 35th overall pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects draft, the Victoria Royals selected Eli McKamey from Shawnigan Lake U18 Prep (CSSHL). McKamey appeared in 28 games for Shawnigan Lake, scoring 23 goals and adding 25 assists for 28 points. His 23 goals were tied for eighth most in the CSSHL, while his 48 points were third most on the Shawnigan U18 Prep team. Hailing from Cowichan Bay, B.C. McKamey stands at 6'1" and 174 lbs.

With the 37th overall pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, the Victoria Royals selected Koltin Herfst from Fraser Valley Thunderbirds U15 (BCEHL). The product of Chilliwack, B.C. was the first defenceman that the Royals selected in the 2024 draft. Standing at 6'0" and 174 lbs, the 14-year-old led the Thunderbirds in defenceman scoring, with 9 goals and 26 assists for 35 points in 28 games played.

Round 3

With the 53rd overall pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, the Victoria Royals selected Drayden Uhrina from RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg U15 (CSSHL). Uhrina appeared in 25 games this season, scoring 22 goals and adding 29 assists for 51 points. The product of Winnipeg, MB. led RINK in goals and points, while he was the fifth highest scorer in the CSSHL U15 league. Uhrina stands at 6'0" and 153 lbs.

Round 4

With the 75th overall pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, the Victoria Royals selected Seth Badry from the PAC Saints U15 AAA (AEHL U15). The goaltender appeared in 22 games this season where he posted a 7-12-1 record, with a 3.22 GAA, .919 save percentage, and 2 shutouts. The product of Stony Plain, AB, stands at 5'11" and 150 lbs.

Round 6

With the 119th overall pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, the Victoria Royals selected Lucas Graham from the Red Deer Rebels U15 AAA (AEHL U15). The defenceman appeared in 34 games this season, scoring 6 goals and adding 22 assists for 28 points. The product of Red Deer, AB. finished second in scoring by a defenceman on the Rebels U15 Team. Graham stands at 6"0" and 170 lbs.

Round 7

With the 138th overall pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, the Victoria Royals selected Ryland Moore from the Winnipeg Bruins U15 AAA (WAAA U15). Moore appeared in 32 games this season, scoring 6 goals and adding 29 assists for 35 points. The defenceman also played 3 games with the U17 AAA Winnipeg Bruins where he had one assist. Hailing from Winnipeg, MB. Moore stands at 5'8" and 140 lbs.

With the 141st overall pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, the Victoria Royals selected Nolan Harding from RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg U15 (CSSHL). The product of Winnipeg, MB. scored 10 goals and added 24 assists for 34 points in 27 games played. He also played 1 game with RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg U17. Harding stands at 6'1" and 170 lbs.

Round 9

With the 185th overall pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, the Victoria Royals selected Kieran Wilson from Pacific Coast Academy U15 Prep. The defenceman appeared in 27 games this season, scoring 3 goals and adding 16 assists for 19 points. He also played 2 games for Pacific Coast Academy U17 Prep. Hailing from Sooke, B.C. Wilson stands at 5'10" and 130 lbs.

Round 10

With the 207th overall selection in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, the Victoria Royals have selected Declan Iacoviello from Burnaby Winter Club U15 Prep. Iacoviello played 27 games this season, scoring 14 goals and adding 16 assists for 30 points. He also appeared in 2 games with Burnaby Winter Club U17 Prep, where he recorded one assist. The product of North Vancouver, B.C. stands at 5'11" and 130 lbs.

The Royals also completed the following draft-pick transactions on Thursday:

Victoria traded the 30th overall (2nd round) selection in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft to the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for the 37th (2nd round) and 77th (4th round) selections in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.

Victoria traded the 77th overall (4th round) selection in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft to the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for a 2nd round pick in the 2028 WHL Prospects Draft.

Victoria traded the 79th overall (4th round) selection in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft to the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for the 138th overall (7th round) selection in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, and a 3rd round pick in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft.
