Victoria Announces Acquisition of Spencer Michnik from Seattle Thunderbirds

Victoria, B.C. - The Victoria Royals have announced the acquisition of 2006-born goaltender Spencer Michnik from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for a conditional seventh round pick in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft.

Standing at 6'2" and 185 lbs., Michnik is coming off his first full season in the WHL where he suited up in 21 games for Seattle posting a 6-9-1 record, with a .868 save percentage and 4.60 GAA. Michnik also played in two games for the Thunderbirds in 2022-23.

The product of Sylvan Lake, AB. was selected 96th overall in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

Michnik previously played for the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) where he suited up for their U16-U18 teams between 2020-2023. During his U16 season with NAX, Michnik was top-three in the CSSHL for wins, GAA, save percentage and shutouts.
