Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips have acquired goaltender Jesse Sanche from the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for defenseman Niko Tsakumis and a 2026 second-round draft selection.

"Jesse is a quick and agile goaltender who has a season under his belt in our league," commented Silvertips assistant general manager Mike Fraser. "I feel he has an opportunity to step in for us right away and have a breakout season for us."

Sanche, an '06-born Kelowna, B.C. native, appeared in 30 games during his rookie campaign in 2023-24. He logged a 6-17-1 record with a 4.66 goals-against average and .872 save percentage. He started three times against the Silvertips last season, including a career-high 54-save performance in Everett on Jan. 13. Sanche saved 30 or more shots on 11 occasions during the season, with his best outing coming on Feb. 17 at home against Prince George, stopping 47 of 48 in a shootout victory.

Originally drafted in the second round 42nd-overall in the 2021 WHL Draft, Sanche spent the 2022-23 season with Okanagan Hockey Academy U18 Prep where he finished 8-3-1 with an .898 save percentage and 3.12 goals-against average. He earned CSSHL U17 Top Goaltender in 2021-22 with OHA Black U17 Prep.

Kamloops receives Everett's 2026 second-round pick as well as defenseman Niko Tsakumis, who was originally acquired via trade from the Seattle Thunderbirds in 2022 for a 2023 fourth-rounder and a 2026 sixth-rounder. Tsakumis accumulated four goals and 15 assists over 78 regular season contests spread across two seasons, plus three points in nine playoff games.

"Niko has been an outstanding Silvertip the past two seasons," Fraser added. "We thank him for his contributions to the team and community. We wish him the best in Kamloops."
