LAS VEGAS - The flagship home of the Alaska Aces, KFQD 750 AM, has elected to simulcast tonight's rematch between the Aces and the Las Vegas Wranglers at Orleans Arena live on AM 590 KHAR, with coverage beginning at 5:45 p.m. ADT.
"As a result of some transmitter issues that have affected the quality of the KFQD signal temporarily, this was the right move," said program director Joe Campbell. "Sound quality on KFQD will be restored completely by Saturday, but recognizing the importance of tonight's match-up, it was crucial for our listeners to have a second option in the event the sound on KFQD was not quite up to the level they've enjoyed for years."
KFQD 750 AM and AM 590 KHAR are sister stations under the umbrella of Anchorage Media Group, the home of Alaska Aces hockey for more than a decade. The Aces grabbed their 17th win over the last 20 games behind goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu, who stopped all 29 shots he faced last night to collect his 11th career shutout, 3-0 over Las Vegas.
