Texas Wildcatters News Release

BEAUMONT, TX -Texas Wildcatters Head Coach and V.P. of Hockey Operations Malcolm Cameron announced Thursday that the team has signed center Bill Bagron to a contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Bagron, 25, joins the Wildcatters after four seasons with the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks where he accumulated 43 points (13g-30a) in 145 career games. Bagron's career high in points came his sophomore season when he totaled 3 goals and 11 assists in 41 GP. He came one goal from an identical stat line in just 26 games as a junior.

The 5-9, 185 lb. native of Eagle River, AK split three seasons in the USHL between Rochester and Chicago before attending UN-O, racking up 119 points (55g-64a) and 197 PIM in his juniors career.

Bagron joins a Wildcatters roster depleted by eight current AHL call-ups (Riddle, Rosa, Kassian, Carlson, Adams, Paiement, Taylor) and a recent knee injury to forward Scott Champagne. Bagron is expected to play tonight at Mississippi, a potential first-round opponent of the South Division Champion Wildcatters.

Forward Morten Madsen is also expected to skate tonight in Biloxi. The 6-2, 185 lb. forward was recently reassigned to the Wildcatters by AHL affiliate Houston. He has played two games with the Wildcatters this season without registering a point.
