Utah Grizzlies Release 2012-2013 Schedule

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies today released their schedule for the 2012-2013 season. Utah opens the season Friday, October 12 in Boise against the Idaho Steelheads before returning to Maverik Center the following night for their home opener on Saturday, October 13 against Idaho at 7:05 p.m.

It will mark the second-straight year and the third time in five seasons that the Grizzlies will open up against their closest regional rival in Idaho.

23 of Utah's 36 home games will be on Fridays (11) and Saturdays (12) with two Sunday home games also added to the schedule with 4:05 p.m. starts. 55 of Utah's 72 total games will be played on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Utah will play two matinee games with 1:35 p.m. starts scheduled for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 21 as well as Monday, February 18 for Presidents Day.

Utah will be home for the holidays, with home games once again scheduled for the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. In addition, the Grizzlies will play seven weekend/holiday home games from December 14-31, that caps with a 6:05 p.m. New Year's Eve start.

The Grizzlies 2012-2013 schedule will be as balanced as ever, with the team playing 18 of their first 36 games at home and 18 of their final 36 games at home as well. 40 of Utah's 72 games will be played against division opponents in Alaska, Idaho and Colorado.

The expansion San Francisco Bulls will make their first-ever visit to West Valley City on Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30. Utah will go to San Francisco twice with games at the Cow Palace Saturday and Sunday, November 30 and December 1 as well as Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and March 17. The Grizzlies will play one game against an Eastern Conference opponent when the Gwinnett (Atlanta, Georgia) Gladiators come to Maverik center on Wednesday, March 6.
