Utah Ends Six-Game Home Stand Tonight Versus Houston

The Grizzlies (17-41-1-4) and the Houston Aeros (31-24-6-3) will play tonight for the second consecutive game and in the first of three game weekends for both clubs. On Wednesday night, the Aeros defeated the Grizzlies 5-1 with Kyle Wanvig scoring two goals and adding an assist. Former Grizzly Mike Smith made 27 saves earning his 16th victory of the season. Erik Westrum scored the only goal of the night for Utah who has just one win in their last six games. On the season, Houston leads the series 4-2 going 2-1 in the 'E' Center. Following tonight's game, the Grizzlies will head out on a three-game road trip that heads through San Antonio for a pair of games and concludes in Houston. Tonight concludes a six-game home stand for Utah that has them 1-3-1 thus far and after tonight's game 11 of Utah's final 16 games will be on the road.

Tonight's Storylines:

· Jarrod Skalde has goals in each of the last two games, no Grizzly has scored goals in Jarrod Skalde has goals in two of his last three games

· Utah's 17 shots on goal Saturday was the second fewest this season in a single game and the fewest in a victory since Dec. 31, 2003 when Utah defeated Grand Rapids 1-0 with just 14 shots on goal (a franchise low)

· Martin Sonnenberg played in his 400th AHL game on Saturday versus Cincinnati

· The Grizzlies have been outshot in eight of their last nine games (32.3 - 26.0)

· Utah has been outscored 17-7 in their last six games

· The Grizzlies signed left wing Eric Labelle from Rockford of the UHL on Tuesday, he recorded 17 PIM in his first game with the Grizzlies

· Yesterday, Utah received on loan defenseman Mike Garrow from Cincinnati. This season he has split time with San Diego and Mississippi scoring eight goals with 23 helpers. He has played 23 career games with Utah (2-5 -7)

Next Game: The Grizzlies will play in the SBC Center versus the San Antonio Rampage tomorrow at 7:00 PM (cst).
