Penguins announce Clear Day roster

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today released their 2004-05 Clear Day roster.

The roster is comprised of the 22 players (20 skaters and two goaltenders) who are eligible to compete for the Penguins during the remaining four weeks of the American Hockey League regular season and in the 2005 Calder Cup Playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of recall, injury or suspension. The Penguins may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts, only after their junior or college seasons are complete.

The Penguins' clear-day roster consists of two (2) goaltenders: Marc-Andre Fleury and Dany Sabourin; seven (7) defensemen: Ross Lupaschuk, Kyle Rossiter, Chris Kelleher, David Koci, Alain Nasreddine, Rob Scuderi and Ryan Whitney; and thirteen (13) forwards: Kris Beech, Matt Murley, Michel Ouellet, Shane Endicott, Colby Armstrong, Ramzi Abid, Ryan VandenBussche, Tomas Surovy, Erik Christensen, Maxime Talbot, Ben Eves, Matt Hussey and Guillaume Lefebvre.

In addition to the 20 skaters and two goaltenders listed above, the Penguins currently have three (3) players (defenseman Darcy Robinson and forwards' Mike Sgroi and Kenny Corupe) listed as "In Residence." Under emergency conditions (if playing strength drops below 18 skaters or two goaltenders due to injuries or recalls), the Penguins may add players to their postseason roster from their "In Residence" list.

The Penguins (32-19-6-6, 76 points; 4TH -Place, East Division) begin a four-game road trip tonight when they visit the Syracuse Crunch (30-26-5-3, 68 points; 4TH -Place, North Division) at 7:30 p.m. at the War Memorial at Oncenter.

The Penguins have 17 games left (7 home / 10 road) in the regular season, including 12 (4 home / 8 road) against division opponents.
