
Falcons Face Sound Tigers at Nest Tonight

Springfield, Mass..â The Springfield Falcons take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the Civic Center tonight as the Sound Tigers make their only to visit to Springfield this season. The teams battled in Bridgeport on Sunday with the Tigers coming up with a late third-period goal to claim a 2-1 win over Springfield. The Falcons rebounded Wednesday with a 4-2 victory over the Hershey Bears. Right wing Jim Campbell, who began the season with Bridgeport before being assigned to the Falcons on Feb. 25, posted a goal and an assist in the win over Hershey.
Campbell has notched two goals and four assists in eight games since joining the Falcons to lead the team in scoring over that span. Left wing Ryan Craig scored his team-leading 23rd goal of the season against the Bears on Wednesday and continues to pace the team with 34 points. Tonight may mark the return of the team's captain and second-leading scorer Shane Willis, who has missed the last 13 games with an injury. Left wing Derek Bekar is also getting closer to returning to the lineup after missing the last 10 contests.
The Sound Tigers enter tonight's game riding a three-game winning streak. The club defeated the first-place Senators, 4-3 in a shootout, in Binghamton in their last game on Wednesday. Former Falcons netminder Dieter Kochan made 41 saves in the win. Right wing Rob Collins leads the Sound Tigers in scoring with 49 points (20g, 29a) on the campaign. Bridgeport resides in sixth place in the East Division and has compiled a record of 7-22-2-1 in road games this season.
